With Obama souvenirs, people take home history
Washington — Yvette Boyd and her daughter Shalae, both from Nashville, Tenn., looked like twins in their matching wool caps that featured “Obama” written in sparkles.
“We got these at the gift shop at our hotel,” said Yvette, who also had a presidents mouse pad in hand.
The two were in town to attend Tuesday’s inauguration.
Yvette beamed. “I just can’t describe it,” she said, of the upcoming event.
“It is so wonderful. People have come together.”
And it appeared from Sunday’s crowds, people are buying trinkets to commemorate the moment.
Kadri Ismail opened his souvenir stand at the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City just outside Washington on Jan. 6.
