Warm your soul at New Leaf Tea Room
The holiday hustle can be exciting, but sometimes it is good to take a break from the season’s stress and regroup physically, mentally and emotionally — and The New Leaf Tea Room in the Victorian Village of Riverton is just the place to rejuvenate the soul.
Walk through the doors of The New Leaf Tea Room and enter a traditional, elegant atmosphere with cranberry carpets, Oriental rugs, Queen Anne chairs and gold gilded mirrors, the perfect setting to sit back and relax with a hot cup of tea. The New Leaf Tea Room and Gift Shop was opened in a building that was established in 1910 and was an apothecary for many years. Owner Phyllis Rodgers decided to leave much of the original, Victorian-style architecture and decor when she created the tea room, adding historic charm to her shop.
“When you are hungry, you go to a diner,” says Rodgers. “But if you want to feed the body, soul and spirit, you come to tea.”
