Seattle – Pacific Market Center, the leading destination market on the west coast, will host the Spring Home Decor & Gift Show April 26-29, 2008, 9 am to 5 pm. New showrooms will be opening including Taku Graphics, Tuura & Friedlander (suite 532) who represents lines such as Artefact USA, Arts of Earth and Lavender Hill Arts. New for this year’s spring show is a ‘Green Showcase’ offering a one-stop-shop for the wide selection of environmental friendly products from the hundreds of showrooms available at Pacific Market Center These include bamboo and organic textiles, housewares made from renewable woods, environmentally friendly cleaning products, natural bath and body items and much more.
“We are excited to provide buyers and retailers an outlet where they can discover the latest products and trends while also getting new ideas on how to energize their space with merchandizing ideas from experts in the field,” said Lisa Goodman, director marketing for Pacific Market Center. “Whether it be highlighting green and sustainability products or the latest in ‘made in the USA products’, we feel the spring show will be a great tool to give retailers that business edge to help set them apart from the competition.”
Showrooms will be available to give expert advice on industry trends and will be introducing new products and lines at the Spring Home Decor & Gift Show. Richard Hull will be previewing fall 2008 collections for two textile lines: Xochi, featuring primarily table and kitchen linens, and Shingora, a combination of home decor textiles including boiled wool throws and jacquard table linens. AKA, representing housewares, barware and tabletop product lines, notes that “customers keep looking for eco friendly products and while wine related products keep being a big trend, beer related products are coming on strong.” “As major retailers get going with promoting green products we need to be on the leading edge of introducing products and merchandising ideas to meet that need,” says Peter Bang-Knudsen, representing high-end kitchen and houseware products.
Carol Burns will be introducing a new line called The Mule Barn, a collection of hand painted gourds, capitalizing on another trend the Pacific Market Center showroom tenants are seeing – a demand for products made in the United States. In addition Bud Ishida & Associates will be highlighting Gourmet Gems high end specialty foods including chocolate covered sunflower seeds. Campbell and Associates, representing decorative accessories, housewares and linens says “the trend is more modern with urban clean lines in colors based on clothing seen on the fashion runways”.
