Forget Etsy: New South End Shop Aims to Tame the Online Shopping Conglomerate of Hand-Made Gifts
Boston, MA – Etsy is a great resource for finding a gift if you know exactly what you’re looking for, but for the indecisive gift-giver, it can be a daunting task to sort through page after page of brightly-colored scarves, scented candles and baby booties. Seventeen Google Chrome tabs later, and you’re probably worse off than when you started.
Thankfully for Bostonians, you can start X-ing out of those tabs. Olives & Grace, a new brick and mortart store has opened in the South End to end your gift-giving woes.
“It’s stifling to try to go to Etsy and find something hand-made,” says Sofi Madison, the West Coast-minded owner of Olives & Grace. After spending time on the other side of the country, the New England native noticed that cities like Austin, Texas, Boulder, Colorado and even New York’s Brooklyn were very good at focusing on local, hand-made, high-quality gifts.
