HKTDC hosts month-long Spring Virtual Expo

The COVID-19 outbreak has impacted business activity across the globe, with hundreds of exhibitions worldwide being postponed or even canceled, depriving many companies across the board of opportunities to promote themselves.
Adapting to this new reality, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) deployed technology and online platforms to connect businesses, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), around the world through a virtual expo.
Starting from April 1, the HKTDC will host a month-long Spring Virtual Expo, which will enable SMEs to continue to expand in mature and emerging markets. The HKTDC’s Online Marketplace, hktdc.com Sourcing, which is accessible on web and mobile app, has won multiple international awards. The site features around 130,000 quality suppliers and more than 2 million international buyers, with over 24 million business connections made every year.
Supplier information is verified by third-party organizations to enhance buyers’ sourcing confidence. Buyers can also see suppliers’ credentials including their track record in export and participation in HKTDC Trade Fairs. HKTDC is also offering complimentary its Customized Business Matching service during April to help buyers with more sophisticated product needs.
