Point Pleasant Beach — Whether shopping for antiques or home decor, shop owners in this beach borough sell treasures that cater to an array of styles.

At Globetrotter, owned by Dean E. Fengya, 49, of Point Pleasant patrons can find international hand-made items discovered by Fengya himself while traveling in winter months. The store opened its doors in 1995.

All items support the Fair Trade Cottage Industry, he said. By supporting Fair Trade, he avoids purchasing items made by factory workers or direct importers, he added.

Globetrotter has an array of interesting items, antiques, artifacts, garden sculptures and fountains, collectables and gifts. Items come from areas of Vietnam, Burma, India, Peru, Indonesia and Thailand. Antique furniture is British, Portuguese and Dutch Colonial, he said.
