Summer NYIGF to Showcase 300+ International Companies

White Plains, NY — More than 300 companies from 39 countries and five continents worldwide will participate in the summer edition of the New York International Gift Fair® (NYIGF®), creating the most extensive offering of global gift and home resources in the United States. NYIGF runs Saturday, August 15, through Thursday, August 20, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94 in New York City.

“With some 39 counties represented at NYIGF, there’s no more efficient way to shop the world,” said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director. “Retailers, as well as US-based importers and distributors, will find an abundant, easy-to-source selection of unique and one-of-a-kind products at the Fair.”

Notable this August, is the debut of South Korea’s Chungchung Bukdo Trade Group, and the return of both Italy’s Italian Trade Commission and Spain’s Instituto de Promoción Exterior de Castilla-La Mancha to NYIGF following an absence from the market. In addition to these newcomers to the Fair, West Africa Trade Hub/Africa Now!, an organization representing various African nations, is moving to the Javits Center from its former location at the Piers.

Throughout NYIGF, thirteen international pavilions will house exhibitors from five continents – North America, South America, Asia, Europe and Africa. The largest number of international pavilions will be housed in NYIGF’s General Gift division, with eight contingents showcasing a wide variety of global gift and home merchandise. Participants include: Ateliers d’Art de France (France), British Jewellery and Giftware Exports (United Kingdom), Chungchung Bukdo Trade Group (South Korea), Instituto de Promoción Exterior de Castilla-La Mancha (Spain), Israel Export Institute, (Israel), Jetro New York (Japan), LMI-Leipziger Messe International GmbH (Germany) and West Africa Trade Hub / Africa Now! (various African nations).

Other participating international contingents – with product collections characterized by either design aesthetic or product category – will be presented in other NYIGF divisions. Accent on Design® will feature contemporary design products in all categories from Ateliers d’Art de France (France) and the British Design Group (United Kingdom);Handmade® will present traditional and contemporary handcrafts in all media and across all product categories from the American Chamber of Commerce of Peru (Peru), British Crafts Council (United Kingdom), LMI-Leipziger Messe International GmbH (Germany) and ProMexico Trade & Investment (Mexico); and Tabletop & Housewares will showcase products for kitchen table from the Italian Trade Commission (Italy).

The 39 countries represented at NYIGF are: Afghanistan, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Botswana, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Ghana, Guatemala, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mali, Mexico, Netherlands, Peru, Russia, Senegal, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Tanzania, Tunisia, Turkey and the United Kingdom (England and Scotland).

For the first time, The Israel Export Institute is sponsoring a buyer promotion – “State of Israel Bonds Sweepstakes” – in connection with NYIGF. Retailers can register to win a $500 “Mazel Tov” State of Israel Bond at the Israel Export Institute pavilion at the Javits Center. Entry forms will be available onsite in booth 2267.

NYIGF is the nation’s premier gift, home and lifestyle marketplace, with 2,900 exhibiting companies featuring an extraordinary breadth and depth of design-driven home fashion products and complementary giftware.
