Whitman woman’s home business features customized baby and maternity clothes
Whitman, MA – It all began with a baby shower. Cindy Hoeppner was invited to a friend’s baby shower in 2005 and created a handmade, one-of-a-kind one-piece for the baby, stamped with a catchphrase – “A Murray and Fattman production” – that included the parents’ names.
“I went to a baby shower, and the women at the baby shower went crazy over this gift I gave my friend,” Hoeppner said.
A month after the shower, Hoeppner created Mitetees, a personalized baby and maternity shirt collection.
The shirts can be personalized with a variety of different sayings, but the “production” one-pieces are still the most popular.
“I’m the go-to baby gift,” said Hoeppner, a 41-year-old Whitman resident.
In addition to her Web site, 35 stores across the country carry her shirts. Mitetees can be found as far away as a shop in San Francisco.
